CHRIST'S EXAMPLE – Love Leads First
Scripture:
"We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19 (NIV)
Reflection:
Every man is leading someone.
Whether it is your wife, your children, your friends, your coworkers or the next generation watching your life, leadership is never simply about words. It is about example.
Jesus never asked His followers to go somewhere He had not already gone.
He served before He asked others to serve.
He forgave before He asked others to forgive.
He sacrificed before He asked others to sacrifice.
He loved first.
As Christian men, our calling is not to become the loudest voice in the room or the strongest personality in the crowd. Our calling is to reflect the character of Christ in the ordinary moments of everyday life.
That means offering grace when it's easier to criticize.
Listening before speaking.
Choosing humility over pride.
Serving without seeking recognition.
Standing for truth while extending compassion.
This isn't about earning God's approval. Through Christ's life, death and resurrection, we already stand forgiven and loved. The Gospel doesn't burden us with another list of things we must do. Instead, it transforms us from the inside out so that our lives begin to reflect the One who first loved us.
The greatest leaders don't demand that others follow. They inspire others by faithfully following Christ.
A Christian warrior doesn't lead from the front because he is better than everyone else.
He leads because he has chosen to follow the greatest Leader the world has ever known.
Christ loved first. Now we follow His example.
Reflection Question:
Read: John 13:14–15 (NIV)
"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."
Ask yourself:
• Is my leadership drawing people closer to Christ?
• Do my family and friends see the love of Jesus in the way I live?
• Where can I choose humility and service instead of pride today?
Warrior Challenge:
Lead by example today. Speak words that build others up. Serve someone without expecting recognition. Pray with your family. Encourage another man in his walk with Christ. Before making your next decision, ask one simple question:
"Does this reflect the example Jesus has given me?"
Love leads first. Christ showed the way. Now walk in His footsteps.
